For some it’s just a football /school field, for him (Bjay) it’s a haven from which he draws inspiration for his scintillating lyrics.
In recent photos, the emerging rapper pays homage to Matakeho JT park, “my home “, he calls it. This follows visuals he dropped for a freestyle a week ago celebrating his birth town Mataheko.
A budding footballer himself, the rapper holds close ties to the field where his dreams were born. “Football is freedom, and so is music, I found both on JT park. “, he says. Coming up, he had always wanted to be a footballer, unfortunately, his dreams couldn’t materialize. Still a regular visitor to the field, he’s found a new purpose, writing music. By drawing inspiration from the field and it’s surrounding environment, Bjay crafts his music to document stories about everything from his life and those around him.
On days he’s not playing, you would catch him sitting quietly in a vacant classroom busily crafting lyrics for a song. Recently he released
a single titled “Yesu”, a breakout single making steady waves in the hoods of the Accra.
