A couple of months ago you voted for ‘REIGN album’ as the most anticipated album of the year on 5micsGh.com. And now history has October 13th 2018 as the coronation of Shatta Wale as the biggest artist in Ghana. With over 20,000 in attendance for the album launch concert and the first copy of the REIGN album sold for 150,000 Ghana cedis. This goes a long way to prove that not only is it possible for one artist to headline and sell out a venue but also shows how well Ghanaians in general have bought and support the ‘Grass to Grace’ struggle of the Dancehall King, Shatta Wale.
Time for the next fan army to prove their support in attendance for their artist. Word on the street is which Ghanaian artist is most likely to fill up the fantasy done after Shatta Wale. And we got the three names mostly likely to join Shatta Wale in this history lane. And the three are Samini, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy.
Will it be the MOBO award-winning artist, Samini with over a decade and still counting back to back hits? Or Sarkodie, one of Africa’s most decorated rap artist who has sold out the International Conference Centre back to back with his annual Rapperholic concert for the past couple of years and last on the list Stonebwoy, who hosts thousands of Ghanaians for his annual free concert ‘Ashaiman to the World Concert’?
In the words of Jay Z, what’s better than one artist filling up the fantasy dome? Two. Especially when they are from the same country as you. Let’s do it for the culture, lets support our own and push for Ghanaian music. Let’s have your opinions in the comments section after voting.[poll id=”23″]
