The long wait for the much anticipated release of the historic featured song by Shatta Wale on America’s leading female singer Beyonce is finally out.
The song titled ‘Already’ is part of an album dubbed ‘’The Lion King” and amazingly, Ghana’s self-acclaimed dancehall king in Africa Shatta Wale has a verse on it.
Following the news that broke earlier this week about Shatta Wale’s deal with the Grammy award winner, Ghanaian music lovers and fans of the ‘Gringo’ hitmaker have been in wait earnestly to hear their king’s voice on the magnificent record.
Beyonce assembled an array of stars, including several top African artists, with Shatta Wale the only Ghanaian artists who got featured, as opposed to seven stars from Nigeria.
On why Beyonce looked in the direction of Africa, she intimated on CNN that she wanted something very authentic from the continent.
“I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa and not just use some of the sound or my own interpretation of it,” she explained.
See below for Wale’s verse:
Verse 2: Shatta Wale]
Every king be ruler, be ruler, yeah
Everybody all dey conquer, yeah
Every king be stronger, yeah
King to rule them longer, yeah
Remember who you are, ooh
Real king always win, oh
Give up your bread, oh
I’ll show your people my love
It’s time already, I say it’s time already
The line already, I say, line already
Only you got the remedy, I say you got the remedy
Shine your body, shine your body
